As the Lagos Tour continues across the various local governments and local Council development areas of Lagos State, the visit to the youths of Agege LG and Orile Agege LCDA today 9th August, 2020 by the leadership of *Youths for New Nigeria* ably led by the National Coordinator, Comrade Sunday Obanubi and the Lagos State Coordinator, Comrade Dayo Adeleye (A3) showed that the youths of the area have proven to be largely ignored, neglected and left to cater for themselves and this has led to increased records of social vices in the area.

Whilst appreciating the transformation project being done by the State government in hurriedly trying to complete the Agege Overhead bridge, there is also an urgent need to channel energy and resources into identifying the strong spots of youths in certain areas of the community to discourage miscreants, immoralities and social vices as it is currently in the increase.

It was recorded that during the awawa boys incident experienced during the lockdown, Agege was a critical base of the formation until the taskforce took charge to dismember them.

However, while that battle has been won, the case of public harassment and molestation has not been totally dealt with and the right approach to this is through active youth engagement, education and empowerment so they can understand the need to be Youthful and useful both for themselves, families, communities and the nation at large.

The Coordinator for YNN Agege LG, Comrade Seun Ajayi was elated to have the team present as he pledged to execute all the thoughts and ideas shared to promote the organisation’s ideas and programs for youths in the area.

Agege has improved in some areas than it was before but their is still need for mass advocacy for the residents and community leaders to ensure healthy living, maintenance of clean and hygienic environment by cleaning the drainage system regularly, utilize the recycling rules of reduce, reuse and recycle to reduce the amount of waste items in the environment.

The deliberation which had youths leaders from the various parts of Agege Federal Constituency was rounded up with the charge to get everyone committed to ensuring a laser focus on building and transforming our communities in line with the Greater Lagos dream of His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
